Night of Fright 2026: NOF Sunway Lagoon Tickets Guide

Nights of Fright 12 – The Ape-ocalypse at Sunway Lagoon, 25 September to 7 November 2026

NOF stands for Nights of Fright, Sunway Lagoon’s annual Halloween scream park in Bandar Sunway, Selangor. The 2026 edition is Nights of Fright 12: Ape-ocalypse, and it is already open. It runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 25 September to 7 November 2026, 7.30pm to 11.30pm. This guide covers the dates, the ticket prices, what is inside, and how to get there and back without paying triple for a Grab at midnight.

One honest thing before you scroll: the scariest part of NOF is rarely the actors. It is the queue for the headline haunted house at 9pm on Halloween weekend. Plan around that and you will have a good night.

What Is Nights of Fright (NOF)?

NOF is short for Nights of Fright. It is a separate, ticketed after-dark Halloween event held at Sunway Lagoon, co-created with The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company. Your NOF ticket is a night-event ticket only. It does not include regular daytime Sunway Lagoon admission, and a daytime park ticket does not get you into NOF.

The format has been consistent for years: walk-through haunted houses with built sets and a storyline each, open-air scare zones where costumed actors roam and ambush you between attractions, a show stage, and a selection of thrill rides running at night.

NOF has been running for over a decade, with a break during the pandemic years, and Sunway bills it as Southeast Asia’s largest festival of fear. What makes it different from a generic haunted house is the local horror angle. Alongside the slashers and pop-culture scares, the event leans on Southeast Asian folklore. This year that means a Pontianak vs Pocong immersive theatre, which hits differently if you grew up here.

If you are the sort who watches horror films with the lights on, this is not a gentle introduction to the genre. It is loud, dark and physically tiring.

Night of Fright 2026 Dates and Opening Hours

The official dates are out. Nights of Fright 12 runs from Friday 25 September to Saturday 7 November 2026, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. Xpress Pass holders get 30 minutes of early entry, from 7pm.

Month NOF 12 Nights (Fri, Sat, Sun)
September 2026 25, 26, 27
October 2026 2, 3, 4 · 9, 10, 11 · 16, 17, 18 · 23, 24, 25 · 30, 31
November 2026 1 · 6, 7 (final night)

That is 20 nights in total. Halloween itself, Saturday 31 October, falls on an event night, and it will be the busiest of the run.

Edition Year Dates Status
NOF 11 2025 Selected nights, late Sept to early Nov Completed
NOF 12: Ape-ocalypse 2026 25 Sept – 7 Nov, every Fri, Sat & Sun, 7.30pm – 11.30pm Running now

Which nights sell out: it is never evenly spread. The Halloween weekend (30 October to 1 November) goes first. If you are flexible, a Sunday night or an early-October date is usually calmer, and shorter queues matter a lot when the event only runs four hours. Tickets are sold per date with a limited daily allocation, so book as soon as you know which night you want.

NOF Ticket Price 2026: Every Ticket Type Compared

NOF ticket price is the question everyone asks first. These are the NOF 12 prices listed on the official channels and Klook at the time of writing.

Ticket Type What You Get Price (RM) Where
Admission Entry to all haunted houses, scare zones, rides and show stage, plus a free packet of Sunway Theme Parks potato crisps RM138 Official eTicket store, Sunway Super App, Klook
Admission + Xpress Pass As above, plus skip-the-queue access at selected attractions and 7pm early entry RM236 Official eTicket store, Sunway Super App, Klook
Xpress Pass add-on Queue-skip plus early access, added to an existing admission ticket. Not an admission ticket on its own RM98 Official eTicket store
Super VIP Pass Klook-exclusive package with guided, queue-free access and a private lounge RM348 Klook only

Early bird: tickets went on sale on 8 August 2026, with limited early bird batches at RM108 released ahead of opening. Those batches were pre-opening allocations, so expect to pay the RM138 standard price now.

Things that trip people up. First, it is the same price for all ages, with no child rate, because everyone must be 13 or older. Second, tickets are date-specific and final: no refunds, no cancellations and no date changes once purchased, so check the date before you pay. Third, on Klook the Xpress Pass covers skip-the-queue access for up to five attractions, not everything. Prices can still change, so confirm at checkout.

What a night actually costs. Budget realistically for two people: RM276 for two standard tickets, RM5 to RM15 for parking, RM50 to RM70 for in-park food and drinks (outside food is not allowed), and RM30 to RM60 for a surge-priced Grab home if you did not drive. So roughly RM370 to RM420 all-in for a couple. Upgrading both tickets to Xpress pushes it past RM550.

Where to Buy: Official eTicket vs Klook vs Sunway Super App vs Walk-In

Official eTicket store (eticket.sunwaylagoon.com)

  • Full date-by-date inventory, so you see exactly which nights are still open
  • Sells the Xpress Pass as a separate add-on if you already have admission
  • Tickets are valid only for the date selected, and sales are final

Klook (official ticketing partner for NOF 12)

  • Runs its own promo codes and card or e-wallet campaigns that can undercut the list price
  • Only place to buy the Super VIP Pass
  • Admission packages include a Klook-exclusive merchandise item, redeemed at Sunway Pyramid on the same date
  • No cancellations or refunds

Sunway Super App

  • Sold NOF 12 tickets from 8 August 2026
  • Worth checking if you are already in the Sunway Pals ecosystem for member perks
  • Same strict terms: date-specific, non-refundable, non-exchangeable

Walk-in at the gate

  • Daily tickets are limited and dates can sell out in advance
  • Only worth gambling on for a quiet Sunday night

Short version: buy online, for a specific date, in advance. Compare the official store against Klook on the day you buy, because which one wins depends on which promo is live that week.

How to Get NOF Tickets Cheaper

  1. Stack platform promos. Klook has run promo codes during NOF 12 sales, some requiring a minimum spend or four tickets. Check the promo tab before you pay.
  2. Bank card and e-wallet campaigns. Sunway and Klook regularly partner with banks, e-wallets and buy-now-pay-later providers like Atome. The codes are often not applied automatically.
  3. Buy as a group. Several promos only unlock at four tickets, so one person booking for the whole squad usually beats four separate orders.
  4. Skip the Xpress Pass on quiet nights. On a Sunday or early-October night the RM98 upgrade is often unnecessary. Save it for Halloween weekend.
  5. Next year, catch the early bird. NOF 12’s early bird was RM30 cheaper than standard admission. Watch Sunway Lagoon’s channels in July and August for the 2027 pre-sale.

One warning. Do not buy resale NOF tickets from Facebook groups or Carousell. Tickets are date-locked and non-transferable to other dates, QR codes can be screenshotted and sold to several people, and the only person who finds out is the second one to scan at the gate. You have no recourse and no refund.

NOF 12 Sunway Lagoon: Haunted Houses and Scare Zones

NOF 12 has nine horror attractions: eight haunted houses plus one immersive theatre, alongside three scare zones, a show stage and a line-up of thrill rides (11, according to Klook’s listing).

Attraction Concept
Ape-ocalypse: The Kingdom Kong The headline house. A collapsed world ruled by chainsaw-wielding apes, inspired by Planet of the Apes and Mad Max
Yokai Road Japanese folklore spirits and yokai
The Freezer: Fresh Meat Set inside a meat processing plant
Little Shop of Horrors: Manga UV 3D Manga-styled house with UV 3D visuals
The Not-So-Wonderful Wizard of Oz A twisted fairytale
Return to Silent Hill Fog-town psychological horror
The Romeos and Juliet K-pop-inspired obsession thriller
Horrorwood Wax Studios Wax museum horror
Scarytales Immersive Theatre: Pontianak vs Pocong: Origins Malaysian horror in a haunted theatre, pitting two of the region’s best-known ghosts against each other

Between the houses are the three outdoor scare zones. These are open-air stretches of the park patrolled by actors who stay in character and will absolutely follow you. Some people find these worse than the houses because there is no queue, no warning and no obvious exit.

The local-folklore attraction is the one people tend to talk about afterwards. Do not treat Pontianak vs Pocong as a sit-down break just because it is a theatre.

Queue strategy: Ape-ocalypse, as the headline house, will carry the longest wait. With only four hours on the clock and regular queues that can reach 45 minutes per house on busy nights, you will not clear all nine without an Xpress Pass on peak dates. Go straight to the headline house the moment gates open, work the next longest queue, and leave the scare zones for later.

Contact: scare actors get uncomfortably close, scream in your face and follow you for a stretch. Keep your hands to yourself too, since guests who behave disruptively can be removed without refund.

Rides, Shows and What Else Is Open at Night

Set your expectations properly here. NOF is not a water park night. Your ticket does not include regular Sunway Lagoon admission, so leave the swimwear and towel at home.

What runs during NOF 12:

  • A line-up of thrill rides in the amusement areas
  • One show stage, the Sunway Lagoon Main Stage
  • Roaming performers in the three scare zones
  • Activity booths, with extra activities on opening weekend

Past editions have included wet rides such as the Grand Canyon River Rapids in the night line-up, so a poncho is not a bad idea. The ride list can change per night, and rides get suspended in heavy rain. Check the event map on arrival rather than relying on last year’s list. Pro tip: show slots are a good queue window. While everyone is watching, the least popular house often empties out.

Getting to Sunway Lagoon for NOF: BRT, LRT, Grab and Parking

Location: Sunway Lagoon, 3, Jalan PJS 11/11, Bandar Sunway, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor. Open in Google Maps.

By rail. Take the LRT Kelana Jaya Line to USJ 7, or KTM Komuter to Setia Jaya, then transfer to the BRT Sunway Line. Alight at BRT Sunway Lagoon station, which serves Sunway Lagoon, Sunway Pyramid and the Sunway hotels.

The catch: NOF closes at 11.30pm, and the BRT Sunway Line runs until around midnight. The problem is the onward connection. Last KTM and LRT services back towards KL leave around the same time the event ends, so the rail route home is tight at best. If you need to be out by then, leave early, or plan on a Grab.

Driving and parking. Park at Sunway Pyramid or the Sunway Lagoon car park. Rates get revised, so check the boards on entry. On Halloween weekend, Pyramid fills up. Arrive early or accept a long walk from an overflow level.

Grab and ride-hailing. Surge after closing is brutal because thousands of people all leave at once. The fix: walk into Sunway Pyramid and book from a mall pickup point instead of the event exit. Fares from KL city centre run roughly RM25 to RM45 one way at normal rates and can double at closing-time surge.

Arrival timing. Gates open at 7.30pm (7pm for Xpress Pass holders). Arrive by 7pm. The entrance queue alone can eat half an hour on peak nights, and every minute lost at the gate is a minute added to your first haunted house queue. There is no re-entry once you leave the venue.

Out-of-towners: Bandar Sunway hotels fill up on NOF weekends. Sunway Resort Hotel and Sunway Pyramid Hotel are the walk-across options, with Subang Jaya and PJ providing cheaper alternatives 10 to 15 minutes out. Book the room when you book the ticket, not after.

What to Wear and What to Bring to NOF

Wear: closed-toe shoes you can move fast in. There is a lot of walking, and sections of the haunted houses are deliberately dark. Light, breathable clothing, because Malaysian humidity does not clock off at 8pm. Bring a compact poncho or small umbrella, since September to November sits in a wet stretch.

No costumes. Costumes, full-face make-up and masks are not allowed, and guests wearing costumes will be turned away at the entrance. This is so guests are never confused with cast members. Save the Halloween outfit for another party.

Bring:

  • A small crossbody or belt bag only, big bags are a liability in narrow corridors
  • Power bank, your phone will drain from torch use and photos
  • Some cash for smaller stalls
  • Mosquito repellent and wet wipes

Skip: heels, white clothing (fog and dark sets are not kind to it), loose accessories and dangling earrings, expensive cameras, and outside food and drinks, which are not allowed inside.

Is NOF Too Scary? Age Limits, Safety and Who Should Skip It

Nights of Fright is not a family-friendly Halloween fair. Guests must be 13 years or older to enter. There is no child ticket and no exception for accompanied younger children.

What to expect inside: strobe lighting, dense fog, sudden loud noises and screams, dark confined corridors, and actors wielding chainsaw props that are loud and relentless, which is the whole point of this year’s ape theme. The houses are designed to be disorienting.

Sunway’s own terms say the event may not be suitable for pregnant women, young children, the elderly, or people with heart conditions, high blood pressure or other health conditions, and that entry is at your own risk. We would add epilepsy or photosensitivity, severe claustrophobia or anxiety, and recent injuries to that list for the walk-through houses. The scare zones are harder to avoid, since they cover the paths between attractions.

If you need out, tell the nearest staff member. Haunted attractions are staffed and have exits, and nobody will make a scene about it.

A friendly note for first-timers: go in a group of three or four. Actors tend to target the front and the stragglers, and the middle is the safest place in any group. If you genuinely hate being singled out, stay quiet. Actors go for whoever screams loudest.

Where to Eat Before and After NOF

Outside food is not allowed and in-park food is priced like theme park food, so eat properly before gates open. Sunway Pyramid is right next to the Lagoon entrance and has the full spread from food court to sit-down.

Sunway Pyramid
3, Jalan PJS 11/15, Bandar Sunway, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor
Hours: 10.00am – 10.00pm daily (individual outlets vary)
Price: RM12 – RM45 per person for most casual outlets
Google Maps

The problem is the after. Most Pyramid outlets shut around 10pm, before NOF ends, so supper means going off-site. Two reliable options:

SS15 Subang Jaya (around 10 minutes by car). The student-belt strip is the closest late-night food cluster, with mamak, Korean, Taiwanese and dessert spots, several of which run past midnight. Check hours on the night, since individual outlets change.
Price: RM8 – RM25 per person
Google Maps

Mamak spots around Bandar Sunway (around 5 minutes). There are late-night and 24-hour mamak outlets within the Sunway township, which is the fastest option if you just want roti canai and teh tarik before driving home. Check hours on the night.
Price: RM6 – RM18 per person

NOF Survival Tips From Repeat Attendees

  1. Arrive at 7pm for the 7.30pm gate. The entrance queue is the first queue of the night and nobody accounts for it.
  2. Head straight to Ape-ocalypse, the headline house. Its wait only grows as the night goes on.
  3. Clear your two longest-queue houses before 9pm, then do the scare zones.
  4. Use show slots to queue for the least popular house. Crowds redistribute predictably.
  5. Eat before you enter. Outside food is not allowed and in-park queues for food are long.
  6. Never walk at the very front or very back of your group if you hate being targeted.
  7. Stay quiet in the houses. Actors follow noise, confirm got a correlation there.
  8. Phone in a zipped pocket, not your hand. People genuinely drop them mid-scare and finding one in a dark corridor is not happening.
  9. You only get four hours, 7.30pm to 11.30pm. Pick your must-dos in advance, or buy the Xpress Pass on peak nights.
  10. Sort your ride home before the event, not at 11.25pm with everyone else.

A workable night plan: 7pm arrive and park, 7.30pm gates and go straight to Ape-ocalypse, 8pm to 10pm clear the remaining houses in descending queue order, 10pm to 11pm the immersive theatre, rides and scare zones while your legs recover, 11pm to 11.30pm one last lap of your favourite scare zone before closing.

Note: You can bring a banana if you’re scared!

Is Night of Fright Worth the Ticket Price?

Worth it if: you actually like horror, you are going in a group of three or more, or you want a date night that is not another dinner and a film. The set design and scale have no real local equivalent, and the folklore-based attractions land harder than anything a cinema will do to you.

Questionable if: you are going solo, you hate queues more than you like scares, or you assumed it includes the water park. It does not, and that disappointment is entirely avoidable.

On value, a cinema horror double bill or an escape room in KL costs a fraction of an NOF ticket. Neither gives you a built environment the size of a theme park with a small army of actors in it. The value equation swings in NOF’s favour on a quiet night with a promo code, and against it on Halloween weekend with an Xpress Pass bolted on.

What most people should buy: a standard RM138 admission for a Sunday or early-October night, stacked with whatever Klook or bank promo is live. Skip the Xpress Pass on those nights. Buy it for Halloween weekend.

At Sunway Lagoon, 3 Jalan PJS 11/11, Bandar Sunway, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor. It sits next to Sunway Pyramid and is served by BRT Sunway Lagoon station on the BRT Sunway Line, about 30 minutes from central Kuala Lumpur by car outside peak traffic.

Is Nights of Fright suitable for kids?

No. Guests must be 13 or older to enter, and the same ticket price applies to everyone. The houses use strobes, fog, dark confined corridors and chainsaw props. Sunway also advises that the event may not suit pregnant women, the elderly, or people with heart conditions or high blood pressure.

Can I wear a costume to NOF?

No. Costumes, full-face make-up and masks are not allowed at NOF 12, and guests in costume will be turned away at the entrance. The rule keeps guests from being mistaken for cast members. Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes instead.

Are the water rides open during NOF?

NOF is not a water park night, and the ticket does not include regular Sunway Lagoon admission. A line-up of thrill rides runs during the event instead. Past editions have included the Grand Canyon River Rapids, so check the event map on arrival for that night’s list.

Can the actors touch you at NOF?

Scare actors are there to get close, follow you and shout, not to grab you, and guests are expected not to touch the actors either. Anyone behaving in a disruptive or unsafe way can be removed without a refund. Tell the nearest staff member if you need to leave an attraction.

How long do you need at NOF?

The event runs four hours, 7.30pm to 11.30pm, and there is no re-entry once you leave. On busy nights regular queues can hit 45 minutes per house, so you likely will not see all nine attractions without an Xpress Pass. Prioritise the headline house first.

Can I buy NOF tickets at the gate?

Do not count on it. Daily tickets are limited and popular dates can sell out in advance. Buy online for a specific date through the official Sunway Lagoon eTicket store, the Sunway Super App or Klook, the official ticketing partner.
